Hotrods For Hearts Charity Car & Bike Show

Hotrods For Hearts Charity Car & Bike Show

Sunday evening we headed over to the Cartersville Country Club where they were hosting a charity car show to help raise money for Kelly and Mitchell White. All the money raised at Hotrods for Hearts will help pay for any last medical expenses for their Sweet angel baby Brody White. I have shared more information on this at the end of the blog post. The parents of Brody shared their story in a Facebook post, which I copied down below. Check out all of the amazing people that showed up and helped raise money for this wonderful cause!

About Baby Brody White

10/10/17 Kelly and Mitchell announced to the world that they would welcome a sweet baby boy into their family April 2018, his name would be Brody James White and they were beyond excited to meet their Sweet boy! Around 20 weeks pregnant, at her regular check up Kelly was told her fluid was high and she was sent to a specialist where she was told that something was possibly wrong with Brody’s heart and was sent to yet another specialist.

At this appointment Kelly and Mitchell were told Brody had some holes in his heart but not to be to alarmed, surgery would fix this and he would be good as new. Through all the stress and bad news received, Kelly stayed positive and strong for her boy, taking extra good care of herself and doing all she could to keep Brody safe.

Kelly was scheduled to be induced 4/11/18, so with bags packed, car seat ready, and nerves turned to the max they headed to Floyd medical to welcome their sweet boy into the world. Brody proved to be stubborn, just like his momma, from the get. Through all the induction methods Brody did not budge, he was staying right where he was! As Kelly was resting they lost Brody’s heart rate and could not find it, Kelly woke to alarms going off and doctors and nurses running in her room. She was whisked away to have an emergency c-section, Brody entered the world 4/13/18 weighing in at 6lbs 8oz of perfection!

Kelly and Mitchell were told their boy had an enlarged heart and the hospital was unsure why so he was sent to CHCOA where he could be better taken care of. Later that night Kelly and Mitchell received news that Brody was very sick and may not make it through the night, however true to his stubborn fighting nature Brody pulled through. Kelly and Mitchell were told Brody was in heart failure, he needed a new heart however he was too sick and weak to be placed on the transplant list. Over the course of the next few months Brody went from too sick to be able to have anything done to help him to being placed on the transplant list, laughing, smiling, cooing, and bringing smiles onto the faces of everyone he met.

7/27/18 Kelly and Mitchell received a call that Brody had taken a turn for the worse, he gained his wings 7/29/18. Brody had fought long and hard, he overcome many obstacles and defeated many odds stacked against him, he was truly the strongest person I have ever had the pleasure to meet.

Though his life was short it was filled with love, Kelly and Mitchell made sure of that. From the moment they knew he existed to the moment he took his last breath they were by him, loving him, and being the perfect example of what being parents is all about.

Please continue to keep them in your thoughts and prayers over the next few weeks and months. Parents should never have to lose a child and the sting of that loss will never go away. As a community we cannot take their pain away but we can show them love and support and try and take some of the financial burden away.
